Staying in the Main House and Treehouse at Willow

Is Willow a guest house or a retreat center?

Willow is primarily a retreat center offering programs of yoga, meditation and the arts. Between retreats we open our doors to the public as a guest house. Willow is also our primary residence.

Is there a minimum stay?

Most but not all of our rooms are reserved for stays of two nights or more. Read below to find rooms that are available for single-night stays.

We started Willow to support retreats of all kinds—even our guest house is designed for individual retreats. We encourage longer stays by offering 10% to 40% discounts for stays of three to seven nights. Weekly stays are priced very reasonably. Experiment with length of stay on our booking engine; discounts will appear automatically.

Our two single-night rooms are set away from retreat spaces:

  • The Treehouse is offered for single nights on weeknights only (Sunday through Thursday).

  • The Chestnut room in the main house is the former servants’ quarters when Willow was a private estate. This room is offered for single nights all week long.

Do you have special or discounted rates?

Yes! We offer automatic discounts from 10% to 40% off three to seven nights. There are no discounts for special groups, professions or travel clubs. Experiment with length of stay on our booking engine — you will see discounts appear automatically.

Rest assured when you book directly with us, you are getting the best rate available. We have ensured that bookings made through Airbnb, Booking.com, or TripAdvisor are more expensive than bookings made directly with us.

What is the deposit and payment schedule?

For guest house stays, a 50% deposit is collected at booking. The balance is auto-billed to your credit card on the morning of your arrival.

For retreats, a 25% deposit is collected at booking. A second deposit of 25% is collected 60 days before the retreat. The balance is collected 14 days prior to the retreat.

What is the cancellation and refund policy?

We understand that travel plans may change. We offer a number of refund options.

  • Travel Insurance: Our travel insurance partner, ResNexus, offers partial to full refund options right up to the day of your retreat or guest house stay. This option can cover you for inclement weather, changes of plans, and personal emergencies. Travel insurance must be purchased at booking.

If you opt not to purchase travel insurance and need to cancel, the following policies apply

  • Grace Window: When you call or email to cancel within 24 hours of booking, we offer a full refund minus applicable credit card charges. Credit card charges are 3% for most cards and up to 6% for Amex cards. These charges are applied by your bank on all transactions, including deposits and refunds. Additional charges may be incurred on international transactions.

  • Early Cancellation Window: When you call or email to cancel at least at least 14 days prior to a guest house stay or at least 60 days prior to a retreat, we offer a 50% refund of any deposit(s) that have been paid.

  • Late Cancellation: After the early cancellation window has closed, no refunds can be made for any reason.

How many guests can stay in one room?

The Walnut room in the main house can accommodate up to four people in two queen beds.

The Chestnut room in the main house can accommodate up to three people in three twin beds. The third twin bed is located in an adjoining room and is available on request for an additional fee.

All other rooms, including the treehouse, can accommodate a maximum of two people.

What is your pet policy?

We don’t allow pets.

Are children allowed?

Children aged 12 and over are allowed if accompanied by an adult age 18 and over. Children under the age of 12 are not allowed overnight

Can I arrive after 6pm?

No problem! While our preferred check in time is 3-6pm, we have a self-check-in procedure for those arriving later. Go to our contact page to inquire about checking in after 6pm. When arriving at 6pm or after, it’s best to stop for dinner first because area restaurants typically close by 8:30 or 9pm.

Can I swim or fish in the pond?

Unfortunately, the pond is not swimmable at this time. It has an overabundance of nitrogen and other nutrients that can occasionally cause an algae bloom. We are undergoing a multi-year effort to restore the pond to a swimmable condition: stocking with fish, planting the shore with native species, and treating the water with organisms that digest excess nutrients. We hope to have it in swimmable condition at a future date. Related to this, we don’t allow fishing in the pond.

What is the “cc processing fee” on my reservation?

We charge 3% to cover fees imposed by your credit card company. In some instances, the fees imposed by your credit card may be higher than 3%, but we cover the difference..

Can I pay by check, electronic transfer, or cash?

We do accept checks and bank-to-bank transfers—if you wish to reserve a room by check or transfer, please call us to book.

We don’t accept cash, Paypal, Venmo or other third party payment systems.
