Dan Bunn, Anguish

Currently residing in Brooklyn, NY, Dan Bunn grew up in southern Wisconsin where he developed a deep love for the outdoors and observing nature. After studying illustration in the Bay Area, Dan received a Stobart Foundation grant to study painting independently, following which he was a scholarship recipient at Bo Bartlett's oil painting master class in Columbus, Georgia. In 2016 he moved to New York to study with Jacob Collins and the crew of painters at Grand Central Atelier, where he has been teaching in the core program since 2020.

Working primarily in oil paint, Dan conjures mysterious scenes replete with animals, landscape, fruit, people, and objects of curiosity. Observations of nature meet a wandering imagination, as fantasy and truth melt into one.
