Sally Fama Cochrane is a classically-trained painter with a PhD in the History of Science from Princeton University, where she wrote her dissertation on the intersection between science and art at the École des Beaux-Arts in nineteenth-century France. She studied at the Grand Central Academy in New York City from 2011-2014 and was a Resident Artist there from 2015-2016. Much of her work combines her fascination with science and medicine and her love of traditional realism through the use of symbolism and allegory in figurative painting, portraiture, and still lives.
