Currently I live and work in an old house in Fort Greene, Brooklyn but I grew up in a small town in Ohio’s farmland and attended college at nearby Oberlin. I later returned to school for an MFA at Queens College. Over the years, I have taught painting and drawing part time and worked at various jobs before taking on a second career as a food magazine editor while continuing to paint. During this time, I discovered the Grand Central Atelier, which was at that time in the nearby Mechanics Institute. Seeing what they did there inspired me to enroll for the four year Core Program. My exhibitions include solos at Tatistcheff Gallery, New York City, and Action Art Center, Kansas City, Missouri, as well as a number of invitational and juried exhibitions, such as the Buttler Institute Annuals and the May Show at the Cleveland Museum. Selected Honors: Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation Grant in Painting; two Oberlin College Alumni Fellowships in Painting, and a couple of residencies at the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts.
